Overview
Your appointment book uses time intervals to determine when appointments can be scheduled. By default, Simple Salon uses 15-minute intervals, meaning appointments can start at times like 9:00, 9:15, 9:30, and 9:45.
If a different interval suits your salon better, our support team can change this for you.
Available Interval Options
- 5-minute intervals - Maximum flexibility (appointments at 9:00, 9:05, 9:10, etc.)
- 10-minute intervals - Good middle ground (appointments at 9:00, 9:10, 9:20, etc.)
- 15-minute intervals - Default setting (appointments at 9:00, 9:15, 9:30, etc.)

What Happens When Intervals Change
When your intervals are changed, your service durations will be adjusted to match the new interval. For example:
Changing from 15-minute to 10-minute intervals
- A 15-minute service becomes a 10-minute service
- A 30-minute service becomes a 20-minute service
- A 45-minute service becomes a 30-minute service
- A 60-minute service becomes a 40-minute service
You'll likely need to adjust some service durations after the change to ensure they match the actual time needed.
Changing from 5-minute to 15-minute intervals
Existing appointments that start at non-standard times (e.g. 11:35) will need to be adjusted, as they won't align with the new 15-minute grid. The support team will work with you to handle this transition.
Important Notes
- This change affects your entire appointment book - it cannot be set per operator or per service.
- After changing intervals, review all your service durations to make sure they still reflect the correct times.
- Any existing future appointments may need to be adjusted if they don't align with the new intervals.
- Online booking appointment times will also update to reflect the new intervals.
