Overview
Your appointment book uses time intervals to decide when appointments can start. By default, Simple Salon uses 15 minute intervals. That means appointments can start at 9:00, 9:15, 9:30 and 9:45.
If a different interval suits your salon better, our support team can change it for you.
Available Interval Options
- 5 minute intervals: the most flexible (9:00, 9:05, 9:10 and so on)
- 10 minute intervals: a good middle ground (9:00, 9:10, 9:20 and so on)
- 15 minute intervals: the default (9:00, 9:15, 9:30 and so on)
Changing Your Interval
You can't change this yourself in Settings. Our support team makes the change for you.
- Decide which interval you want: 5, 10 or 15 minutes.
- Send us your request using the Submit a Request option in your Help & Support page. Tell us the interval you'd like.
- Our team will walk you through it and help with any adjustments.
- Once it's done, check your service durations.
What Happens When Intervals Change
When your intervals change, your service durations change to match the new interval. For example:
Changing from 15 minute to 10 minute intervals
- A 15 minute service becomes a 10 minute service
- A 30 minute service becomes a 20 minute service
- A 45 minute service becomes a 30 minute service
- A 60 minute service becomes a 40 minute service

Changing from 5 minute to 15 minute intervals
Existing appointments that start at odd times (like 11:35) need to be moved, because they won't fit the new 15 minute grid. Our support team will work with you on this. To get ready, see Changing from 5 Minute Intervals to 15 Minute Intervals.
Important Notes
- This change affects your entire appointment book. You can't set it per operator or per service.
- After changing intervals, review all your service durations to make sure they still show the right times.
- Any existing future appointments may need adjusting if they don't line up with the new intervals.
- Online booking times will also change to match the new intervals.
