The diary is where you'll spend most of your time, so it's worth setting it up the way you actually like to work. The Column Width setting in Settings → Appointments lets you choose how wide each operator's column sits on the diary. Small fits more operators on screen at once. Medium gives each appointment more room to read. Here's how to change it.
1. Open Settings
Head to your Settings page from the sidebar. The Settings panel slides in from the right, with everything grouped into collapsible sections.
What to look for: a Save button in the top right, a Search bar at the top, and the sections Security, Appointments, Clients, Sales & Payments, Marketing, and Users & Permissions stacked underneath.
Can't see Settings? Your user account needs the Manager or Owner role to access Settings. A teammate with admin access can switch that on for you under Users & Permissions.
2. Expand Appointments and find Column Width
Click the Appointments section to expand it. You'll see Column Width as one of the rows, with a two-button toggle on the right showing S and M.
In a hurry? Type "column" into the Search settings… field at the top and it'll jump you straight to the setting.
3. Pick Small or Medium
Click S for Small or M for Medium. The button you pick fills in green so you can see which one is active.
The difference, plainly:
- S (Small): packs each operator column tight. Best for big teams or anyone who wants to see the whole salon on screen without scrolling sideways.
M (Medium): gives each column more width. Easier on the eyes, easier to read service and client names off every appointment block.

4. Hit Save and check the diary
Click the green Save button at the top of the Settings panel. Head back to Appointments and your diary will already be showing in the new column width. No reload, no fuss.
Changed your mind? You can flip between S and M as many times as you like. Nothing locks in. The setting just controls how the diary looks, not the appointments themselves.
A few extras worth knowing
- It only changes the look, not the data. Column Width is a visual setting. Your appointments, services, prices and operators all stay exactly as they were.
- Small is the friend of big teams. If your salon runs five or more operators, Small usually wins so every column fits on screen.
- Medium is the friend of detail. If you spend a lot of time reading service names, client names or notes off the diary at a glance, Medium reduces the squint factor.
- It works with every view. Whether you're looking at the Day, Week, or a filtered single-operator view, your Column Width choice carries through.
- Pairs with Preferred Operator. If you've also set a default operator under Settings → Appointments → Preferred Operator, your diary will open to that operator's week view at your chosen column width.
