The new look has been designed to take you from an empty time slot to a confirmed appointment in seconds, without losing any of the flexibility you’re used to. Here’s how it works, end-to-end.
1. Open your appointment book
Head to your Appointments page from the sidebar. Find the operator and the time the client wants and click any empty slot in that operator’s column.
What to look for: a green dashed placeholder appears in the slot you clicked, with the start time and a + icon. That’s the cue that the appointment is ready to be filled in. Click the placeholder again (or the + icon) to lock in that start time and open the client search.
2. Find the client (or add a new one)
A search bar opens at the top of the page. Start typing the client’s name and your matching clients drop down underneath.
New client? No problem. If the client isn’t in your list yet, choose the highlighted + Add “[Name]” option at the top of the dropdown to create them on the spot. You can capture their full details later. Simple Salon only needs a name to get the appointment in the diary.
3. Choose the services and confirm
After you select the client, the Select Services screen takes over the page. Click any service tile to add it to the appointment. The Client Card on the right keeps a running tally of duration and price.
Use the categories on the left to narrow the list, the search bar to jump to a specific service, or Past Services to repeat what the client had last time. Add as many services as you need.
Before you confirm, you can also:
- Flag As: flag the appointment with a badge so it stands out on the diary.
- Comments: add a visit note that the operator will see at a glance.
- Take Deposit: capture a deposit straight away (handy for new clients or longer services).
- Send E-mail / SMS to client: fire off an immediate confirmation. This is separate from your automatic Appointment Reminders.
When everything looks right, hit Confirm. The appointment lands on the diary instantly.
4. Done, and ready to flex
A green confirmation notification in the bottom right tells you the appointment is in. The new block appears in the operator’s column at the time you chose.
Your diary is flexible by design:
- Drag the appointment to move it to a different time or operator*.
- Drag the bottom edge to lengthen or shorten the booking*.
Click the appointment to flag it, leave a visit note, view the client’s history, or add another service.
*on mobile and tablet tap and hold the appointment to enable the drag option.
A few extras worth knowing
- Client Details. From the Client Card you can expand to see Details, History (past appointments processed through POS), and Categories, useful for quickly checking a regular before they walk in.
- Multi-client appointments. Booking a mum and her daughter at the same time? Use Add Multi-Client from the search bar to stack their services in one block.
- Tasks. Need to block out time for a stocktake or a staff meeting? Hit Add Task instead, same diary, no client required.
