When a client purchases a Gift Voucher through POS, you have the option to click Send Details, which sends the Voucher ID to the client, either via SMS or Email.
This template is also used when clicking 'Send Details', after converting a client's Loyalty Points balance into a Gift Voucher.
It is possible to edit this Gift Voucher template that is sent to clients.
You can edit the SMS and Email templates used by going to Admin > Lists > select SMS & Email Templates from the drop down menu.
- If you want to edit the Gift Voucher email template, then look for "Default Email Voucher Details".
- If you want to edit the SMS template, then look for "Default SMS Voucher Details".
You can click Copy to copy the default message into a new template so you can edit it how you would like.
In the below example, we have clicked Copy next to Default SMS Voucher Details. As you can see, this is the default message, which has been copied over into a new template:
You can edit the message how you please, but make sure it still contains all the necessary 'Tags'. E.g. #ClientFirstName#, #VoucherCode#, #VoucherAmount# etc. These need to remain in the message that you edit, to ensure the client receives the correct details.
Note: When you are creating this SMS template, you'll want to make sure you're aware of how long the message is. Remember, 1 SMS is 0.11 cents. The more characters you use the more expensive it will get (up to a maximum of 4 messages or 0.44 cents).
You should also edit the Template Name. This makes it easy to identify when you go to select this as the new template to be sent.
The above information also applies to editing the Email template (except you're not restricted to characters, so you have a little more freedom with these ones). But make sure you don't delete the tags!
Selecting the new template as the one to goes out to clients
Once you've edited or created your own template, you'll need to go to Settings > Cash Register Settings.
Scroll down to Email Gift Voucher Template/SMS Gift Voucher Template.
From here you can select your new template/s from the drop down menu. Click Save once complete.
Note: These templates are not sent when Gift Vouchers are purchased online (as that template isn't currently customisable). This will only change the template for Gift Vouchers that are sold via POS, or converted from client's Loyalty Points.
