The Client Card is the single page where everything you know about a client lives, who they are, what they have spent, what they have booked, and what notes you have stacked up about them. The new look pulls all of that into one clean layout so you can stop hunting through tabs.
This article walks you through finding a client, reading the Client Card at a glance, editing the core details, and using the Actions menu for everything else.
1. Find a client
Click the magnifying glass in the top toolbar to open the Search Client bar. Start typing a first name, last name, phone number, or member number, and matches drop down underneath as you type.
Have a client already with an appointment? The Client Card is also accessible directly from any of your booked appointments.
Click the right client to open their Client Card. If no match comes up, hit the highlighted + Add a new client row at the top of the dropdown to create the client on the spot.
Heads-up. The search bar is global, it works from any page in Simple Salon. You can also reach a client by clicking their name on an appointment in the diary.
2. Reading the Client Card at a glance
The Client Card is split into three working areas. The left rail tells you who the client is, the top row tells you what they owe and what they have, and the tabs underneath are everything they have done with you.
Left rail, Client Details. Avatar, name, email, phone, Client ID, Member ID, and address. The Email and Text buttons fire off a message in two clicks.
Top row, Stat pills. Three quick numbers always in view:
- Loyalty points, the green pill. The client’s current points balance.
- Deposit Taken, the orange pill. Outstanding deposit balance.
- Account Amounts, the red pill. Account balance, credit on hand or owed.
Tabs, History. Six tabs of past and ongoing activity:
- Bookings, every past appointment with date, time, type, cost, and operator.
- Products, products they have purchased.
- Packages, packages they have bought and used.
- Vouchers, gift vouchers connected to the client.
- Redeemables, anything pre-paid that has not been used yet.
- Memberships, active and past memberships.
On any Bookings row, click the date in blue to jump to that day on the diary. The pencil, eye, and printer icons on the right of each row let you edit, view, or print the visit.
3. Edit the core client details
Click the pencil icon next to Client Details in the left rail. The Edit Profile screen opens with three clearly labelled sections.
Personal Information. First name and last name, contact number, alternate contact number, and email address. Use Upload Image or Take a picture to add a client photo.
Other Information. Gender, date of birth, preferred operator, loyalty points, referred by, referral type, and barcode or member number.
Postal Address. Address, suburb, postcode, and state.
Hit Save when you are done. Cancel discards any changes and returns you to the Client Card.
Just need to leave a quick note? Skip Edit Profile. Comments and visit notes belong on the appointment itself, click into the booking from the diary or from the Bookings tab and add the note there. That way the note is tied to the visit, not the whole client record.
4. The Actions menu
Click the three-dot icon at the top right of the Client Card to open Actions. Eleven shortcuts that work on the open client.
Day-to-day actions:
- Add to sale, jumps the client into POS, ready to ring up.
- Categories, assign the client to one or more categories for marketing segments.
- Invoices, view the client’s invoice history.
- Find Invoice, look up a specific invoice.
- Find Gift Voucher, look up a voucher tied to the client.
Insight and history:
- Activities, lists every appointment change or deletion.
- Campaigns, shows SMS and email campaigns sent to this client.
- All Transactions, every account, deposit, and loyalty movement in one list.
Files and forms:
- Images / Files, upload and manage photos and documents.
- Forms, view and manage intake or consent forms.
Tidying up:
- Merge Clients, combine duplicate records into one. Use carefully, the older record gets folded into the newer one.
A few extras worth knowing
- Copy any field in one click. Hover over the email, phone, Client ID, or Member ID in the left rail. A small copy icon appears, click it to copy that value to your clipboard.
- Sort and re-order the Bookings list. Click any column header (Date, Time, Type, Cost, Operator) to sort. Click again to reverse the order.
- Address pin. If a client has an address on file, the small pin icon under the address opens the location in a new tab.
- Pagination. The Bookings list shows 21 rows per page by default. Adjust the row count in the bottom-right corner.
Tip: keep the left rail clean. The Client Card is most useful when the basics are right. Five minutes spent on Edit Profile when a new client signs up saves an hour later when you need to email a campaign or reconcile an account.
