The Transaction Report provides a detailed record of every financial transaction processed through Simple Salon. Use it to reconcile payments, track refunds, investigate specific invoices, and review transaction activity by payment type, transaction type, or user.
How to Access
Navigate to Reporting > Report List > Transaction Report.
Filters
The report has two rows of filters:
Row 1 (Date Range):
- From and To - Select the date range (maximum 6 months per search)
- Payment Type - Filter by payment method. Options: All, Account Corrections, Afterpay, American Express, ANZ Worldline, Bad Debt, Bartercard, Cash, CBA Terminal, Cheque, Credit Card, Credit Card (Multiple Cards), Deposit, Deposit Migration, Diners, Direct Credit, EFTPOS, EFTPOS with CASH OUT, Gift Voucher, Gift Voucher with NO ID, Internal Use, MasterCard, Mercury Gateway, On Account, PAY EXPRESS, PIN Gateway, Salon Account Corrections, Slick, Stripe Gateway, Stripe Gateway Refunds, Tyro Gateway, Zip Pay
- Type - Filter by transaction type. Options: All, Sale, Refund, Remove cash from drawer, Add cash to drawer, Correct too much cash in drawer, Correct too little cash in drawer, EFTPOS Cash Out, Cash Rounding Up, Cash Rounding Down, Gift Voucher Correction, Gift Voucher Change, Gift Voucher Refund Correction, Internal Use Correction, Internal Use Refund Correction, On Account Correction, On Account Refund Correction, Open Cash Drawer, Invoice Payment, Deposit Correction, Deposit Refund Correction, Deposit, Deposit Refund
- Status - All, Complete, or Incomplete
- Go - Run the report
Row 2 (Additional Filters):
- User - Filter by the staff member who processed the transaction
- Filter - Apply the additional filter
Report Columns
- Status icon - A green icon indicates a complete transaction
- Inv # - The invoice number
- Type - The transaction type (e.g. Sale, Refund)
- Date - The transaction date (click the column header to sort)
- Total - The transaction amount
- Clients - The client name associated with the transaction
- Payment Types - The payment method(s) used
- User - The staff member who processed the transaction
Row Actions
Each transaction row has the following action icons:
- Details - View full transaction details
- Edit - Edit the transaction
- Print - Print the individual invoice
- Delete (X) - Delete the transaction
Additional Actions
- Find Invoice - Search for a specific invoice by number
- Find Gift Voucher - Search for a specific gift voucher
- Export as CSV - Download the report data as a spreadsheet
- Print - Print the report
Example
A client calls to query a charge from last week. Set the date range to cover last week, select Sale from the Type dropdown, and click Go. Find the client in the results and click Details to see the full invoice breakdown including services, products, and payment method used. If a refund is needed, you can process it directly from the transaction details.
