With Advanced Rostering, you set your own hours by adding Roster Types to your row on the Roster, rather than typing a plain start and finish time. Use this when you want to mark yourself on for a shift, take leave, or come off the roster for a day.
Roster yourself on
- Go to Roster.
- Click the + next to your name, or click an empty cell in your row.
- In the Roster Item Details panel, pick Rostered On from the Roster Type dropdown.
- Pick your Roster Rate Type if your salon tracks wages this way.
- Set the start and finish Time for your shift. This has to fall within your salon's opening hours for that day.
- Tick the day(s) you're working. Use Week Days or Weekend Days to tick several at once.
- Click Save.
Roster yourself off
To take a day off or go on leave, add a Roster Type that doesn't allow bookings. Use Rostered Off or Annual Leave, the same way as above.
If you already have a Rostered On item for that day, open it instead. Then do one of these.
- Change the Roster Type to Rostered Off or Annual Leave and Save.
- Click Delete to remove the shift altogether.
An operator with no Rostered On item for a day doesn't show up as bookable in Appointments for that day at all. It isn't just that their time is blocked out.
Copying your roster forward
You don't need to set your hours up week by week. On the Roster page, tick the checkbox next to your row, then click Repeat.
In the Repeat Roster dialog, pick how often to repeat under Repeats. Options are Weekly, Fortnightly, Every 3 Weeks, Monthly (every 4 weeks), Every 5 Weeks or Every 6 Weeks. Then pick how far ahead under Repeats for, from 1 week up to 12 or more. Click Repeat again to confirm.
This replaces roster items, it doesn't add to them. Confirming the dialog warns that existing roster items for the selected weeks will be deleted. They're replaced with a copy of the current week, so double check the week you're repeating from first.
A few things to know
- An operator with no Rostered On item for a day isn't bookable that day. This applies whether they're Rostered Off, on leave, or simply have nothing scheduled.
- Managers can add, edit or delete roster items for any operator, not just their own.
- You can stack more than one Roster Type on the same day, for example a working block either side of a break. See Scheduling Two Roster Types On The Same Day with Advanced Rostering.
