Overview
Simple Salon supports barcode scanners for quickly adding products to a sale in the POS. Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that emulates keyboard input will work with Simple Salon.
Setting Up Products with Barcodes
- Go to Admin and click the Products tab.
- Click on a product to open its details.
- Enter the product's barcode number in the Barcode field.
- Click Save.
Repeat this for each product you want to scan.
Using the Scanner in POS
- Open the POS and start a sale for the client.
- Make sure the cursor is in the barcode/search field at the top of the POS screen.
- Scan the product barcode. The scanner will input the barcode number and the product will be added to the sale automatically.
- Continue scanning additional products as needed.
- Complete the sale as normal.
Tips
- Make sure your barcode scanner is set to add a carriage return (Enter key) after each scan. Most scanners do this by default.
- If products are not being found, double-check that the barcode number saved in Admin matches the barcode on the physical product.
- You can also type the barcode number manually into the search field if the scanner is not available.
