Made a mistake on a transaction? You can go back and fix it, change the operator or payment method, delete it altogether, reprocess it for the right amount, or backdate it to when it actually happened.
- Changing the operator on a transaction.
- Changing the payment method.
- Deleting a transaction.
- Changing the sale amount.
- Backdating a transaction.
All of these start the same way: go to POS, then the Transactions tab, and set the date range to when the transaction happened.
Changing the operator on a transaction
Click the transaction to open Transaction Details, then click the pencil icon next to the item row. In the Transaction Item Details panel, choose the correct operator and hit Save.
Changing the payment method
Open the transaction the same way, then click the pencil icon next to the row under Payment Method Details. Choose the right payment type in the Transaction Payment Details panel and hit Save.
Deleting a transaction
Deleting removes all record of the sale. That's different from refunding a transaction, which keeps a record of the original sale alongside the refund.
Say you've added a client's visit to POS and processed it incorrectly. Delete the transaction and the appointment opens back up so you can process it again. You can also delete a refund the same way, if you made a mistake creating that.
On the Transactions tab, find the transaction and click the ⋮ (more options) button on the right of its row, then choose Edit, Refund, Print or Delete.
Choose Delete, then confirm by hitting YES.
Once you confirm, the transaction disappears from the list completely. There's no undo, so double check you've got the right one first.
Changing the sale amount
If you've processed a sale for the wrong amount, the fix is to delete the original transaction, then reprocess it through POS with the correct amount.
- Find the transaction in the Transactions tab and delete it, as above.
- Go back to Appointments and find the client's visit for that day. Deleting the transaction should have reopened it.
- Open Visit Details and adjust the service price or the services booked before adding it back to POS.
- Process the sale again through POS for the correct amount.
If you're doing this on a different day to when the client actually came in, backdate the new transaction so it lands on the right day. See below.
Backdating a transaction
To backdate a transaction, open its ⋮ menu on the Transactions tab and choose Edit. Pick the correct date and hit Save. The transaction now shows against that date on your Transaction List, even though it was processed today.
