Simple Salon tracks two different kinds of notes: notes about the client themselves, and notes about a specific visit. This article covers Client Notes, the ones that follow the client everywhere, not just one appointment. For notes tied to a single visit, see Recording and Viewing Client History.
Client Notes are for things you want to know about a client every time they come in. Think how they take their coffee, or an allergy to mention before a treatment.
Recording a Client Note
- Search for the client and open their Client Card.
- On the left, under their Client ID, find the Client Notes box and click the pencil icon.
- Type in the note.
- Click Save.
You can come back and update this note any time, it isn't tied to a particular visit.
Viewing a Client Note
The note shows straight away under Client Notes on the Client Card, so it's the first thing you see when you open a returning client's profile. If there's nothing recorded yet, it just says "No notes recorded for this client."
If a note doesn't seem to save
- Make sure you clicked Save after typing, closing the box without saving loses the change.
- Check you're editing Client Notes on the Client Card, not a comment on a specific visit, they're saved in different places.
- If notes have been saving fine and suddenly stop, send us a request via Submit a Request with your Company ID and where you were entering the note.
If you have any questions, please send them to us via the Submit a Request option in your Help & Support page.
