Changing your intervals to an hour means that theres only 1 slot per hour (for a 60 minute appointment). This is why the default is 15 minutes so there are more spots per hour and you have more freedom with where appointments start (and so you can have more freedom with service duration).
This is what it would look like if intervals were set to an hour
The appointment that's booked in is a 1 hour service. As you can see it's not possible to start on a half an hour when intervals are set to 1 hour.
If you look at the other screenshot attached, this shows how the Opening Hours would need to be set. The starting time has to be on the hour, and cannot start on a half hour. Opening Hours correspond with how your Appointments book intervals are set. I.e. if you have 15 minute intervals you can start at 9:15, if you have 30 minute intervals you can start at 9:30 etc.
The only way for clients to choose appointments on the hour is if your appointment book is set up to 1 hour intervals (currently it's set to 15 minutes).
We can definitely switch you over your Appointment/Service intervals to 1 hour, and this will mean all services you provide will have a minimum duration of 1 hour.
When we make appointment intervals larger, you'll need to align appointments as there are less spaces available per hour - so we can't automatically fit everything in.
Eg. tomorrow there are appointments starting on half hour marks (from 2:30pm), and a 15min duration appointment at 5:30pm - those won't work if we change them over.
So first you'll need to adjust all your future appointments over so that they start on the hour. Once that's been completed Tech Support will be able to make the change!
This is because intervals would be on the hour, so there'd be no space for a 30 minute appointment to slot into. e.g it would go from 8am > 9am.
We can definitely do 30 minute intervals instead though. But the same rules will apply where all of your appointments need to line up so that they start on either the hour or on the half hour, so that your appointments will line up.
i.e. you wouldn't be able to have any 15 minute duration services as they'd all have to be a minimum of half an hour long + they need to start on the hour e.g. 9am, or on the half hour, 9:30am.
If your appointments are set to half an hour intervals, and your appointments are usually an hour long - appointments would be able to start either on the hour or the half hour. So yes an hour long appointment could start at 10am one day, and 10:30am on another day.
If you have any 15 minute duration services, these will need to be adjusted so that their minimum is 30 minutes (as any 15 minute services won't be able to fit in your appointment book).
So if there are any services currently booked in that don't line up with the hour or half an hour, you'll need to adjust. The best way to check your appointments is via Reporting > Report List > Appointments Report and change dates to go from now until the end of the year, and then look for any that don't meet the half an hour interval requirements.
If all future appointments are lined up, let us know and we'll pass it back to Tech Support to make the change for you! Otherwise let us know if you have any further questions in the meantime - we're here to help.
We had let you know that if your intervals are set to 1 hour, then you can only have services with a minimum duration of 1 hour. So you cannot have any services that are half an hour long. Having your intervals set to half an hour lets you keep your lunch times to 30 minutes, and will let you book in clients either on the half hour xx:30 or on the hour xx:00.
If you want to be set to 1 hour intervals instead, we can definitely do this but you will need to move ALL future appointments to line up on the hour.
This means you will not be able to book in clients on the half hour, and only on the hour e.g. 9am, 10am, 11am etc. Lunch times will not be able to start on a half hour slot either and would have to be an hour long because as mentioned your minimum duration would be 1 hour long.
Once you've adjusted all future appointments to line up on the hour, let us know and we can make the change. If you have any further questions in the meantime let us know.
