You may have heard the term clipboard, but what is it, and what does it actually do in Simple Salon?
People usually mean the temporary storage your computer uses when you copy something. Your device holds that copied item in memory so you can paste it somewhere else. You use this outside Simple Salon too, whenever you copy a file, image or piece of text.
In Simple Salon, there are two different clipboards. You'll come across one in Appointments, and the other in Online Bookings.
The Appointments Clipboard
The Appointments clipboard lets you move and copy an appointment from one day to another. It's only stored in Simple Salon's memory, so you can only use it inside Simple Salon, not to paste into other programs.
When you park an appointment on the clipboard (for example, while moving it), it sits in the Clipboard panel until you drag it onto a new slot in the diary. The booking isn't finished until you do that.

The Online Bookings Clipboard
The clipboard used in Online Bookings stores a link on your device's memory, outside Simple Salon.
If you've clicked Copy URL or Copy Embed Code, you won't see anything change on screen, but the link is ready to paste. To paste it:
- Click into the field or program where you want the link to go.
- On a Mac, hold Command (⌘) and press V. On a Windows PC, hold Ctrl and press V.
- Check that the full link has pasted in before you save or send it.
