The payment types your salon uses already cover the basics like Cash, Credit Card and EFTPOS. If you take payments another way too, you can add your own payment method type for it.
For example, if clients sometimes pay by direct bank transfer, you can create a Direct Credit payment type. That way those sales still show up in your Simple Salon reports under their own name instead of getting lumped in with Cash.
Go to your Admin page, then the Lists tab. From the Select List drop-down, choose Payment Methods.
- Click New on the top right.
- In the panel on the right, type a Name for the payment type and, if you like, a short Description.
- Leave Show on POS ticked so it shows up as a tile at the till.
- Set End-Of-Day if you want this payment type to show as its own row in your End of Day totals, or grouped in with the Credit Card row. Leave it on Don't Show if you don't need that.
- Click Save.
Now go to POS and add a client and their services or products. Hit Receive Payment and your new payment type shows up as a tile alongside the others.
Tip: Receive Payment opens with Credit Card already sitting there for the full amount. If that tile hasn't been touched (or only edited), tapping a different payment tile swaps it straight in, so you don't need to remove Credit Card first.
Finish the sale like normal. It'll show up under your new payment type's name in the Payment Method Type Report and Transaction Report.
You can create as many payment method types as you need.
