Before we get started, if you want to create a Membership that provides a Member Discount—you need to have Advanced Discounting enabled. Checkout the following article to enable this if you haven't already:

How to create Salon Memberships
We are going to focus on 3 different membership scenarios, which we believe to be good ideas for Salon Memberships. Feel free to click on the links below to jump ahead through the article:
- Loyalty Membership (includes a member discount on services and products)
- Blow Dry Membership (includes packaged services)
- Unlimited Membership (includes an unlimited number of packaged services)
1. Creating a Loyalty Membership (includes member discount)
For this scenario we are going to create a "Loyalty Membership" where the client pays $150 per month and gets 30% off all services and products. (Of course, you can come up with your own unique pricing structure with different figures though!)
Go to your Simple Salon Admin page and choose the Memberships tab. Click New to start creating your Loyalty Membership.
On the right side panel fill out the details of the membership:
- Give it a Name ie. Loyalty Membership
- Set the Expiry if applicable - in this case we have selected Never because we never want the clients to leave, so we want the membership to keep on rolling over
- Choose Recurring for Payment Type
- Enter a Joining Fee (if not applicable enter 0)
- Enter the Recurring Amount ie. 150 and Monthly
- Set the Minimum Cancel Period if applicable, for this scenario we want it to be 1 month
Then expand the Suspension Details section.
Tick Allow Suspension and set the minimum and maximum suspension periods. In this scenario we are going with a 1 month Minimum Suspension Period and a 3 month Maximum Suspension Period:
Next, expand the Member Discount section:
Note: If you do not have a Member Discount section, you need to turn on Advanced Discounting. Click here to learn how.
Set the Member Discount details:
- Set the Type — Percentage or Dollar (in this scenario we are doing a 30% discount)
- Enter the discount Amount ie. 30
- Set the days the member discount will apply to (we're going with every day)
Then click Save.
The Loyalty Membership has been created and is displayed in the membership list.
2. Creating a Blow Dry Membership (Packaged Services)
For this scenario we are going to create a "Blow Dry Membership" where the client pays $200 per month for 5 blow dries, a cut and one eyebrow tint. Of course, you can come up with your own unique inclusions with different figures.
Still in the Admin page, under the Memberships tab, click New to start creating your Blow Dry Membership.
