Once you've connected your Simple Salon account to Payleadr and created your Salon Memberships (you can see how to do it here if needs be), you're ready to sell them to your clients.
In this article, we are going to show you how to sell and redeem memberships with packaged services, like the Blow Dry Membership or the Unlimited Membership we created earlier.
If instead you want to create a membership with a member discount (like the Loyalty Membership we created earlier), click here.

Selling the Blow Dry Membership or Unlimited Membership
Add the client to POS. Once the client is listed in POS, along with any services they are paying for, click the Add Items link in the yellow strip to add the membership to the sale.
Choose Membership.
On the right side panel choose the operator selling the membership, and select the specific membership the client wants to subscribe to (ie. Blow Dry Membership).
Then you will need to fill out the details on the right:
- Pick the Start Date
- You can apply a Discount to the Joining Fee if applicable, but in this scenario there is no joining fee, so those fields are irrelevant
Now, tick Use Direct Debit.
Close the Add Items To Sale pop up window and behind it you will see that the membership has been added to the sale. Click Receive Payment and follow the prompts to complete the sale.
Once the sale has been processed, the client will now receive a text message from Payleadr inviting them to subscribe to their membership plan.
Up until the client completes the membership setup on their end, their client card in Simple Salon will display the membership status as Pending.
Once the client receives their text message from Payleadr, they will need to tap the link in the text message and follow the prompts to complete the membership setup.
After the client taps the link, they will be asked to review the membership plan and then they'll need to tap Add Card or Add Bank Account, or if they have previously added direct debit details, it will give them the option to Pay Using Chosen Payment Type, which is the case here.
Once the client has followed the prompts to enter the direct debit details or confirm existing ones, it will load for a moment before displaying the Plan Subscription Confirmation. All done.
Now if you go into the client's client card in your Simple Salon account, under the Memberships tab the membership will be Active (represented by the green light). To view/edit membership details, click Edit in the membership row.
You can see various membership details such as the membership inclusions.
Redeeming the Blow Dry Membership or Unlimited Membership inclusions
The client's membership direct debit is managed by Payleadr, so you will automatically receive the clients' membership payments in your bank account each month.
As for the inclusions, which the client's membership entitles them too, when you add the client to POS along with any products or services which are included in their membership, a medal icon will display next to the service or product in which you can click to redeem it as part of the membership. Let's take a look.
Go to the client's appointment and click the client's name.
Click Add Client To Sale.
The client and their service(s) will be added to POS.
You will notice the little yellow and green medal icon displaying next to the service price. This is telling you that this service is included in the client's membership. Click the medal icon to redeem the service using the client's membership.
You will be asked if you want to redeem the service as a part of the Membership Inclusions. Click Yes.
The service will be redeemed as a part of the membership inclusions and disappear from POS. Complete the rest of the POS sale if there were any other items in the sale which needed to be paid for.
To see that this service has been recorded as used by the client, go to the client's client card and under the Memberships tab Edit the membership.
Under Inclusions you will see that 1 of the Blow Dry services for that time period has been used. You can also see how many inclusions the client has left for this time period.
There you go, now you know how to create, sell and redeem packaged service type memberships. Go ahead and use these membership ideas and also have fun coming up with your own memberships for scenarios suited to your business.
